Fivefold Ministry Churches-Statement of Faith

1. There is one God,( Deuteronomy 6:4) who is infinitely perfect,( Matthew 5:48) existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ( Matthew 28:19, Mathew 12:32, Acts 2:36, John 14:26, 1 John 5:7)

 

2. Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man. (Philippians 2:6-11) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (Luke 1:34–38) He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust,(I Peter 3:18) as a substitutionary sacrifice,(Hebrews 2:9,) and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (Romans 5:9) He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. (Acts 2:23–24) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest. (Hebrews 8:1, Revelations 7:9-17) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace. (Acts 1:11, Matthew 26:64, Revelation 1:1, 17, 18) 

 

3. The Holy Spirit is a divine person,(John 14:15–18) sent to dwell, guide, teach, empower the believer,(John 16:13, Acts 1:8) and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. (John 16:7–11)
 

4. The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the only divine rule of Christian faith and practice. (2 Peter 1:20–21, 2 Timothy 3:15–16)

 

5. Man was originally created in the image of God: (Genesis 1:27) Man by disobedience fell, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, (Genesis 3:1-3, Acts 4:10-12, Romans 3:23) are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.(1 Corinthians15:20–23) The portion of the unrepentant and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment; (Revelation 14:11, 21:8, Mark 9:44) and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss. (Revelation 20:5-6, 21:1-4)

 

6. Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; for those who repent and believe in Him shall be born again of the Holy Spirit, receiving the gift of eternal life, and becoming the children of God. (John 1:12, 1 John 5:13, Titus 3:4-7, Ephesians 2:8-9)

 

7. It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, (Ephesians 5:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 12:14) being separated from the sin of this world, being fully dedicated to the will of God, The Holy Spirit giving power for holy living and effective service. (1 Thessalonians 1:5, Colossians 1:10-13) This is to be experiential and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15, Romans 6:1–14)

 

8. Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick, anointing with oil are Scriptural and are privileges for the Church in this present age. (James 5:14, Matthew 8:16–17, Mark 16:18)

 

9. The Church consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They have repented from sin and placed their faith in Him and His atonement for sin on the cross. These are experientially born again of the Holy Spirit. (John 3:5, Ephesians 1:13, 22, Ephesians 1:13) Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations. (Matthew 28:19–20) The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. (Acts 2:41–47, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28, Hebrews 10:25, 1 Thessalonians 5:12, Ephesians 1:14-16)

 

10. There are three New Testament Baptisms, with a usually defined order, but not always. One must know “who” is doing the baptizing, “what” is one baptized into and “when” does this take place. The first baptism is when the Holy Spirit immerses the believer, upon hearing and receiving the gospel into the “body of Christ.” This is when a believer is born of the spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13, John 3:5, 20:22, Ephesians 1:13) The second baptism is when man in obedience is water baptized (Acts 2:38, 8:36, 19:4-6, Romans 6:3) The third baptism is when the Lord Jesus Christ baptizes believers with an immersion into the Holy Spirit, evidenced with an experiential speaking in tongues or prophecy. This baptism by Christ, is available to all born again believers now, and is only limited by unbelief and not seeking for this. There are no scriptures which curtail this baptism to a limited time as some unbelieving teach. (John 1:33, Acts 1:5, 8, 2:1-4, 11:15-16, 1 Corinthians 14:39)

 

11. The New Testament is the holy written pattern and guideline for how the church and believers should build and flow, just as Moses was shown how to build the tabernacle. (Hebrews 8:5) These writings demonstrate an unalterable church ministry and structure, Christ given to build His church until He comes again. This church will include a functional five differing called and appointed by the Lord Jesus ministry callings headed up by the apostle calling. (1 Corinthians 12:18, 28) Peter was one of these apostles along with all other apostle and prophets being foundation stones to the building, Christ being the chief corner stone. (Mathew 16:18, Ephesians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 12:18, 28, Acts 15:2, 4, 6)

 

12. The church ministry government has not changed from the New Testament pattern as scripturally provided, except by man’s wrongful determinations. Apostles, prophets and teachers are Christ provided to build and edify the church, which is still under construction and is still reaching the entire world. These specific callings are limited in giving to “some," and need to be discerned by their burden and ministry vision. (Ephesians 2:20, 4:8, 11, 12-14, Mathew 24:14, 28:19) The callings and Christ given differing gifts to the Church including the continuing apostles, beyond the original twelve, as well as prophets and teachers is scripturally attested. This continued giving including apostles is until Christ’s return and the church resurrection of the dead. There are no scriptures that deny this fact. (Acts 14:4, 14, 1 Thessalonians 1:1, 2:6, Galatians 1:19, Acts 15:2, 32) All of the five given callings are elders when mature, as well as non called “fivefold” elders (Acts 20:17, 28, 15:23, I Timothy 3:1, James 5:14) The elders should be in place and govern the churches, as a multiple eldership. (Acts 20:17, 28, 15:2, 4, 6)

(1Peter 5:1) Elders grow from within the believer body and are made so by the Holy Spirit working within them, placing burden and vision wiring. (Acts 20:28)

 

13. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life;(1 Thessalonians 4:16, 1 Corinthians 15:20–23, John 5:28–29) for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment. (Revelation 14:10-11, 20:5-7, 20:12-15)

 

14. The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is soon coming when all scriptures shall be fulfilled (Luke 21:31-33, Mathew 24:34-36) and will be personal, visible, and prior to the breaking of the vials of God’s wrath. (Revelation 1:7, 14:1, 16:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:9, Luke 21:27) This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. (Philippians 3:20-21, Titus 2:11–14, Hebrews 12:14)

 

15. Women are often called of God to ministry. (Judges 4:4, Philippians 4:2-3, Luke 2:36, Acts 21:9, 18:26) They are among those who received and still receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit for power and ministry. The prophetess ministers to edify the church. (Acts 1:13, 14, 21:9, 1 Corinthians 14:26) The scriptures such as 1 Timothy 2:12, “I suffer not a woman to teach or usurp authority over the man," are specific to a married wife, in a subordinate relationship with her husband. The same also applies to 1 Corinthians 14:34, “let your women be silent, - let them ask their husband at home." The Greek in “Strong’s Dictionary” for woman in these cited scriptures is “gune," rendered “specifically a wife." When the Lord appointed Deborah, a married woman, as the prophetess spiritual leader, many men existed in Israel. (Judges 4:4)
